B-25D # 42-87457 HIstory Of Flight: This B-25 was on a routine navigation training flight from Kelly Field, Texas, to Tucson. At 13 miles east of Tucson, the pilot, Major Lorin Geil, requested permission to make a visual approach, which was granted. Five minutes later, the aircraft crashed into a canyon in the Rincon Mountains. Weather conditions at the time included snow squalls and clouds that obscured the mountains. The plane was found 10 days later with the tail sticking out of the snow.
