A-7E Corsair

Navy A-7A Corsair II

History of crash: The serial number, crash date and accident details are unknown at this time. The location is about 10 miles southeast of Bouse, Arizona.  Parts found at the site indicate it was a Navy Attack A-7A Corsair, built by Ling-Temco-Vought. I tend to think it was probably based with a California Naval Air Station.  The paint scheme was that of grey and white.

I have no database on lost Navy aircraft, so if anyone out there can assist, please contact me so we identify this bird.

A "2" is visible on a portion of the wing I uncovered. I suspect a fair amount of the crash was buried, either by the crash crew or from the force of the impact. An access panel to the folding wing cylinder. Stenciled instructions are for the ground crew during maintenance and stowage of the Corsair.

Some of the hundreds of parts scattered across the desert floor. Another access panel to some component on the Corsair II.

Parts are scattered back toward my ATV and beyond.
